How many characters make up a word?
To determine the number of words you can translate using Transifex AI, it's essential to understand the concept of AI characters. Each word corresponds to approximately 6.5 AI characters. For instance, with 20,000 AI characters, you can translate approximately 3,000 words, assuming the source language is English. This conversion ratio allows for efficient estimation of translation capacity based on the number of AI characters available.
How do you see the problem of underrepresented languages as it relates to AI?
At Transifex, we lift you over the language barrier so you can engage the world. And our unrivaled responsiveness will address each of your unique needs. This means we will continue to seek out unique solutions to complex problems such as underrepresented languages.
Transifex AI is able to use your unique content, including that in underrepresented languages, to fine-tune translations. However, the tested use cases have been somewhat limited thus far, so we’d be interested in working with you on refinement. Please contact us if this is of interest.
We’re not there yet, and AI isn’t there yet, but we recognize the inequity and will continue to work with you to break down language barriers - all language barriers.

While you have the option to purchase additional characters during the term, modifications such as removing the add-on or reducing the purchased capacity can be processed upon your subscription renewal. Are there any penalties or fees for exceeding certain usage thresholds with the add-on?
There are no penalties or fees. It's important to note that once you reach the character limit, any additional character consumption will not be possible, ensuring you have control over the charges associated with the add-on. You will also receive notifications when you reach 80% and 100% of your character limit. This ensures that you have the time to evaluate your usage, make informed decisions, and, if needed, purchase additional characters before reaching the limit.
Can you clarify the payment methods accepted for the AI Characters add-on?
The payment methods accepted for the AI Characters add-on remain consistent with your main subscription. You can continue to use credit cards and bank wire transfers for both your main subscription and the add-on, ensuring a seamless and unified payment experience across all aspects of your subscription.
