Buy, increase, reduce, or remove your AI word capacity from your Transifex subscription page, and learn how to request Machine Translation (MT) character changes.
Buy AI words
An AI word is the unit that measures your Transifex AI usage. Your capacity is the AI word limit on your subscription.
Click your profile icon, then Billing & Plans to open your subscription page, and find the AI Words section. It shows your AI word usage and your current AI word limit, if any.
Click the pencil icon on the AI Words ring. If you haven't purchased an AI add-on before, the limit shows as zero with a plus icon instead. Click the plus icon to make your first purchase.
In the Add AI words dialog, choose the tier you need under Up to how many AI words do you need?
Click Add.
Your new AI word limit is set, and you can use it immediately.
📝 Note:
You need a credit card to buy an AI add-on from your subscription page.
The add-on is a recurring subscription. Transifex bills it every term, and your usage resets to zero at each renewal.
Punctuation marks, spaces, and HTML tags are not counted in your usage.

These are the tiers available in the dialog, as shown in the Transifex UI.

Increase your AI word limit mid-term
If you are close to your AI word limit before the term ends, you can upgrade to a higher tier at any time.
Go to your subscription page.
In the AI Words section, click the pencil icon.
Choose a higher tier.
Click Add.
⚠️ Warning: Transifex charges you for the additional AI words when you upgrade, and the full price of the new tier from the next renewal.
You pay only for the additional AI words for the rest of the current term. They are available immediately, so you can keep using Transifex AI without interruption. The new limit stays in place at renewal.
Example. You have a 2,000 AI word limit, and you reach 80% usage mid-month. You upgrade to the 6,000 AI word tier, which costs $216. You are adding 4,000 AI words, so the upgrade charge is 4,000 words * $216 / 6,000 words = $144. At renewal, Transifex charges the full $216/month.
Reduce your AI word limit
Go to your subscription page.
In the AI Words section, click the pencil icon.
Choose a lower tier that fits your needs.
Confirm your selection.
The lower limit takes effect at your next renewal.
Remove the AI add-on
Go to your subscription page.
In the AI Words section, click the pencil icon.
Choose None.
Confirm your selection.
Transifex schedules the change, and the AI add-on is removed from your subscription at your next renewal.
Buying AI words is unavailable
You may not be able to buy AI words from your subscription page. Common reasons:
Tier purchased outside the UI. You bought a higher tier that isn't offered in the Transifex UI, or you bought through the sales team. To add AI words, contact us.
Scheduled subscription changes. You have an upgrade or downgrade scheduled, and you can't buy AI words until it takes effect. The plus icon shows this message: "You have already scheduled changes. If you want to purchase AI words, you need to discard the previous changes or contact us."
Buy or change MT characters
You can't buy MT characters from your subscription page. Contact us and include your account details and the number of MT characters you want. We will confirm the update to your subscription.
To increase or decrease your MT character capacity later, contact us in the same way.
